Vishwas Agri Seeds Ltd. started its operations in Gondal, near Rajkot, Gujarat, in 2009. The company markets its seeds under the brand name "Vishwas". The seed processing plant is equipped with an optical sorting machine that detects unwanted colours, slight discolourations, size and shape defects as well as foreign objects. The seed is also subjected to a seed treatment where fungicides, insecticides or a combination of both are applied to protect it from pathogenic organisms and storage insects in the seed or soil.
The company focuses on providing good-quality seed. It applies standard procedures to ensure consistently high quality. The company is involved in every stage of the seed treatment ecosystem, i.e. it contracts with farmers to germinate the seed, has its staff inspect the seed in the fields to ensure seed quality, and is responsible for further seed treatment, packaging and storage. At its seed processing facility in Ahmedabad, the company has a 14,000 square metre cultivation area where it grows sample seeds and monitors their growth, which helps us differentiate its products.
Vishwas produces seeds for more than 40 different crops and vegetables and is present with its products through its distribution network in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Vishwas has more than 75 varieties of crops. The product portfolio includes seeds for groundnut, soybean, wheat, cumin, green gramme, black gramme, hybrid seeds for cotton, castle, pearl millet, maize, hybrid seeds for vegetables, chilli, tomato, brinjal, watermelon, maize, cabbage, onion, coriander seeds, fenugreek, mustard, alfalfa, carrot, etc.
