Arvind and Company Shipping was established in September 1987. The main activity of the company is chartering business. The Company primarily charters vessels for commercial purposes. As of the date of this Draft Prospectus, the Company owns a total of 5 (five) barges, which are briefly described in this chapter under the heading “Equipment and Machinery” on page 105. With the purchase of the vessels “Arcadia Sumeru” ( FY 2021), “KB-26” and “KB-32” ( FY 2022), “KB-28” and “Arcadia Minica” ( FY 2023), the Company has entered into the chartering of vessels. In this segment, the end users are construction companies that often require barges to transport heavy equipment, construction materials or personnel to and from construction sites near bodies of water. Barges can be used to transport materials such as sand, gravel, cement, steel, or machinery to support construction projects.
Barges are flat-bottomed vessels used mainly for port construction, maintenance, dredging, transporting goods, placing cranes and dredges, and handling materials on inland waterways, rivers and canals, and in coastal areas. They are towed by tugs or pushed by pusher boats, which provide the propulsion needed to move the barge through the water. Barges are built flat and wide to maximize their cargo capacity, and their flat bottoms allow them to navigate shallow waters and pass under low bridges. They come in a variety of sizes and configurations, with some equipped with ramps or cranes to facilitate loading and unloading of cargo. After loading, the barge is towed or pushed to its destination by a tug or push boat.
They are looking for new business areas where they can leverage their promoters' long-standing relationships in the industry. In order to develop a new line of business, their company recently entered the hospitality industry with the “Hotel Millennium Plaza” and the “Hotel 999” near the city of Jamnagar in Gujarat.
