What is the shareholders cut-off date for SBI Cards IPO?

When any subsidiary company of a parent company comes with IPO, the parent company reserves shareholding quota for parent company stockholders to give them easy investment options in their subsidiary company as a gift of their loyalty. Thus, investors who hold SBI shares on the 18th Feb 2020 (the date of filing RHP with SEBI) are eligible to apply under the shareholder's category of SBI Cards IPO. In past shareholder cut-off was not for the new investors. But recently, cut-off date is linked with RHP filing date. In such case, lots of new investors will get the chance to enter in IPO via shareholding quota.

When applying in IPO, you will get an option for shareholders' quota. In case you are eligible candidate, you must apply in 1-2 lots in the shareholder category. Simultaneously, you can apply 1 lot in the retail category also. As per SBI Cards IPO DRPH, 13,052,680 Equity Shares are reserved for SBI Shareholders on a proportionate basis.

Hello Kapil,

As you were holding shares in your Demat on 18th Feb, you are eligible for SH quota.

I sold SBI shares on 20th feb, as I was not aware of this. Will I be eligible under SBI shareholders category?

Yes, as you were holding SBI share on 18th Feb 2020 in your demat account you are eligible for SBI Shareholder quota. Registrar will take the list of holders from 18th Feb for calculation.

hello sir, I am having sbi shares valued at Rs.300000?- and above as on cut off date. Whether I can apply for SBI card IPO in sbi shareholders category as well RII category, separately.

Hello Mr G P Bhat Sir,

Yes, you can apply in two separate categories (RII and SH) with same PAN, Demat and ASBA/UPI account. This is a valid scenario and both the applications will be a valid bid. For RII you can apply up to Rs 2 L and for Shareholding, you can apply up to Rs 2 L. In case you wish to apply only in SH, you can apply above Rs 2 L, but in such case, you are not eligible for RII.

I bought sbi shres on 17 but they are settled on 20 Feb. Will i be able to apply lot through shareholders category?
6.1. Vinay Jain Feb 22 2020 09:36:55 AM
In simple words No. You must have shares in your Demat account on 18th Feb 2020. As you received shares on 20th Feb, you are not eligible.

I am a shareholder of SBI and want to apply in both shareholder category and retail category, so first of all is it possible to do so and if yes then can I apply two (shareholder and retail category) application under same demat account through ASBA mode? And, is it possible that I can be allotted shares in both retail and shareholder category in same demat account?
5.1. Vinay Jain Feb 22 2020 09:35:17 AM
Yes, You can apply 2 separate applications from the same Demat and the same ASBA process. When you log in to net banking, you will see 3 different applications - 1 for Retail, 1 for Shareholders and 1 for Employee. As per your eligibility, you can apply in each individual category. After allotment shares will come in the same Demat account.

Yes, As of now RHP has not filled. So I assume you will be eligible for Shareholding quota. We need to wait for confirm date when RHP will publish.

Hello Sir, I apply to Ujjivan Shareholding Quota, it's oversubscribed by 4x, Will this be the same scenario for SBI Card?
2.1. Vinay Jain Dec 07 2019 09:39:47 AM
From Ujjivan Bank IPO, the cutoff date for shareholding quota has changed to RHP filling date. In such a case, more IPO investors are trying their luck in both retail and SHQ. Previously, it was DRHP date. So ad-hoc investor was not able to take part in SHQ. I personally assume SHQ will be 3 to 4x for SBI Cards.

can we get any special discount under shareholding quota for SBI Card IPO?
10.1. Vinay Jain Dec 07 2019 09:36:08 AM
As per the current update, Shareholding quota doesn''t have any discount. Employee Quota can have Rs 18 Discount. This is tentative, need to wait for RHP.
