BSE Currency Derivatives Review:

BSE started its first Currency Trading in 2013 and in the beginning of 2016 its daily turnover has been Rs 11,422 crores. BSE Currency Futures and Options trading are similar to Equity F&O trading but the underlying happens to be currency pair (i.e. USDINR, EURINR, JPYINR OR GBPINR) instead of stocks.

NSE Currency Derivatives Review:

NSE started its first Currency Future trading in 2008 and Options Trading in 2010. In the beginning of 2016 NSE daily turnover for currency derivatives have been 17,492 Crores. NSE Futures support trading in 4 currency pairs i.e USDINR, EURINR, JPYINR OR GBPINR and Option trading only in USDINR.

All currency Future & Option contract net settles in cash in Indian Rupee. The final settlement price published on the last trading day for the expiry month.

    Why there are limited currencies for trading with BSE/NSE? Can we trade other 3 GBPINR,EURINR,JPYINR currencies in Option trading?
