To open a new account you need to submit the physical form with all required documents which include PAN, Aadhar, Address proof, photo and bank statement/personalize cheque. After receiving the filled form, the company will verify your KYC, and complete KYC related formalities. A welcome kit will be shared with you on your registered email address. This account opening process will take 3-4 days.

After receiving a welcome kit, you can log in on SMC Mobile app, SMC Online Web version or SMC Online Desktop software of trading app. You can transfer fund online via net banking, Payment gateway, NEFT/RTGS or deposit a cheque. Once you load your margin money you can start trading in Equity, Derivatives, Currency, Commodity and Invest in Mutual fund. SMC Online also provides free equity research to its customers, so you can get free access of SMC research platform. SMC Online has a strong presence on international location for NRI customers. Investment in IPO can be done via the ASBA process (Net Banking from your Bank) using SMC Online Demat Account number. The company also provides Mutual fund research.

Is SMC Global Good and Reliable Broker?

SMC Global Securities Ltd, Company is still focusing on Traditional broking business, where other competitors started investing heavily in online broking business. On Technology, Trading platform SMC Online is really good, but still account opening process, investment on online client activation is not there. Offline account opening process is time-consuming. On customer support company is dependent on the branch network, so the online customer doesn’t have clear access to information and services. SMC Global Online brokerage is cheaper than its close competitors which are plus point. The interest rate on margin money is 18% PA which is standard across the brokerage industry. For Traders, the company is not giving big exposure/ leverage so that’s negative points for traders who love to play on high volumes. Overall big brand name in the traditional brokerage business, but not competitive for online investors/traders. Alliance with PNB(Panjab National Bank) online trading make SMC presence on PAN India. With PNB alliance SMC is providing Trading account and PNB is providing Bank and Demat account which is making 3-in-1 account combination. So even though SMC is providing 2-in-1 account but with PNB its now 3-in-1 account.
