  • HDFC Securities Ltd, a part of HDFC Bank is one of the largest full-service brokers in the Indian stock broking industry. The broker is a registered depository participant with CDSL and NSDL to offer HDFC Securities demat account. Likewise, key competitors such as ICICI Direct, SBI Securities, Axis Direct and others, HDFC Securities also offers a 3-in-1 account, integrating demat, trading and bank account. Thus, to open a trading account with HDFC Securities, you must have both the HDFC Securities demat account and saving account with the HDFC bank. The broker also provides a free mutual fund account at zero account opening charges with Digify to invest in mutual funds. An Indian resident, NRI (not US and Canada-based) or Indian corporate can open a trading account with the broking house. Here, we are providing comprehensive HDFC securities account opening review including but not restricted to account opening process, account opening documents, account opening charges and others in detail.

    HDFC Sec 3-in-1 account

A 3-in-1 account opening facility combines and links together trading, demat and bank account. Here, the trading account is required to buy or sell securities whereas demat account is required to keep securities in dematerialized format. However, the bank savings account is required to transfer money. Whenever you place any buy order, the money will be debited from your bank account and the purchased security will be deposited in your demat account. On the other side, if the sell order is placed, then the shares will be withdrawn from demat account and money will be credited to the bank account. Thus, the feature provides you easy, seamless and convenient trading & investing experience.

The key benefit with the 3-in-1 account is it allows quick and instant fund transfer from your bank account without cumbersome authentication. However, the key limitation is that if you don’t have an HDFC bank account then firstly, you need to open a savings account with HDFC Bank and link it to your demat and trading account.
