The Bharat Highways Infrastructure Investment Trust was established in March 2022. The Sponsor provides testing services in the transportation sector and has expertise in NSV surveying, FWD surveying, road and airport pavement design, physical and chemical soil, lime and cement testing, road roughness testing and design of concrete and bituminous mixes for road projects. The Sponsor has established a laboratory at its headquarters that is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories for chemical, mechanical and non-destructive testing.
The sponsor has a proven track record of physical and chemical testing of soils and other materials (cement testing, fly ash, bituminous emulsion, aggregate testing) at its NABL-accredited laboratory, enabling it to determine the appropriate material mix for bituminous and concrete pavement projects. The company can also assess the roughness and durability of road projects to determine the appropriate maintenance measures for the road projects.
The first portfolio consists of seven road projects in the states of Punjab, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, all based on HAM. These roads are operated and maintained in accordance with the concession rights granted by the NHAI and are owned and operated by the Project SPVs, which are currently wholly owned by GRIL.
