How to open HDFC Sky Account Online?

Open HDFC Sky account online in a completely paperless way. If you have linked your Aadhar card to your mobile number, you can open HDFC Sky Demat account online in just 15 minutes. The online account opening process is digital and less time-consuming as you can open an account and start trading or investing on the same day.

Steps to open HDFC Sky Demat and Trading Account online;

1. Open HDFC Sky app or web portal.
2. Sign up: Enter your e-mail address, mobile number, and enter a 4-digit OTP to verify details.
3. KYC verification: Enter PAN number, DOB, and tap on proceed to verify KYC.
4. Identity verification: Upload a front-side picture of your PAN card and enter your name, father's name, and PAN number.
5. Video KYC: Capture a selfie and upload to complete the video KYC process.
6. Personal details: Add details like name, nominee (optional), marital status, occupation, income, etc.
7. Add bank account: Select your bank name and add the IFSC code and bank account number to verify your bank details.
8. The system will send Re 1 to your bank account for verification.
9. Select your trading experience i.e., no experience, 1 year, 2-3 years, etc.
10. Select exchange/segments i.e., BSE and NSE and derivatives, commodity, and currency.
11. To trade in F&O derivatives, upload a salary slip, or 6 months bank statement, or the latest ITR.
12. The system will show segment-wise brokerage details. HDFC Sky charges a maximum Rs 20 brokerage across segments.
13. Upload your signature on plain paper and tap on the e-sign form.
14. Accept the terms & conditions and proceed to e-sign.
15. Enter your Aadhar number and enter OTP to digitally sign both the KRA and account opening form.

HDFC Sky Account Opening Documents required

Below is the complete list of documents you have to provide to HDFC Sky to open a trading account;

• PAN card
• Aadhar card as your ID proof
• Bank account proof
• Take a selfie or upload a recent photograph for in-person verification.
• Your signature.
• Income proof: Only required to provide, if you want to trade in the derivatives segment.

HDFC Sky Account Activation Status

Once you have requested to open HDFC Sky trading account you have completed all the steps successfully and digitally signed the forms. Your account setup process is completed at your end, now all the details will undergo the verification process by the HDFC Sky customer service team. And, the demat and trading account will be opened in 2-3 working days.

Once your account gets activated, you will receive an email from the broker with your HDFC Sky account user ID and password. Use the account credentials to log in to the HDFC Sky app and website.

How to switch from HDFC Securities to HDFC Sky?

If you already have a trading cum demat account with HDFC Securities and now, you want to switch to HDFC Sky discount broking platform. You have to close your existing HDFC Securities account through the E-closure facility and open a new account with HDFC Sky. You can only close your account if you have no pending dues, open positions, and no negative balances.

HDFC Securities allows customers to close their accounts online through the e-closure portal. There are no charges to close your account. Follow these steps to initiate your HDFC Securities demat account closure process;

1. Log in to the HDFC Securities E-closure portal
2. Enter the OTP on your registered mobile number and email.
3. Tap on E-sign now and accept the terms & conditions.
4. A pre-filled account closure form will be displayed on the screen.
5. Click on the Sign Now option and enter your Aadhar number.
6. Enter OTP on your mobile number linked with your Aadhar card.
7. A message will be displayed that your application has been submitted successfully.
8. You can also download the signed account closure form.
9. Your trading and demat account with HDFC securities will be closed within T+ 2 days.
