The Annual Maintenance Charge (AMC) charged by Sharekhan is Rs. 400 along with GST. Thus, if you are not going to be using your account, it is better to close it upfront than let this charge accumulate. Furthermore, the AMC accrues interest when not settled and your account closure request will not be entertained unless these dues are settled.
Sharekhan doesn't have an online request for account closure. You can close your Sharekhan account by two ways:
1. Visit Sharekhan's local branch and fills out the account closure form.
2. Send Account Closure form to Sharekhan Corporate Office with all the required documents.
Any other mode of communication such as phone calls or emails is not accepted as valid requests for account closure. You can call Sharekhan Customer support team to send you latest copy of the Account Closure Form to your registered email id.
On visiting the nearest branch, you need to clear all the dues, return the unused offline transactions slips of your DEMAT account, and fill out the account closure form. Download Account Closure Form.
Keep a copy of your account closure form at hand as proof of having raised the request. Sharekhan takes 7 working days to process an account closing request. It takes about 15 days for the customer to receive the account closure confirmation letter. If the confirmation letter fails to reach you within 15 days, you may contact your local branch and follow up on the status.
