Brief me on transferring my shares from other broker accounts into a Zerodha Demat account

Zerodha provides CDSL Demat account. So if you want to transfer shares from another broker to Zerodha there are two different methods.

  • If your other Broker Demat account is CDSL, then you can transfer the shares online via CDSL easiest. First, you have to register into CDSL easiest using your other broker's DP ID and BO ID. Add Zerodha account as a trusted account. Once registered you will be able to transfer the shares to your Zerodha account.
  • If your other Demat account is an NSDL depository account, you have to follow an offline route. You have to submit the DIS SLIP of the other broker to them along with Zerodha’s CMR copy( They may need or may not). For the DIS slip, you have to contact your other broker and they will provide it to you.

In the DIS slip, you have to fill in your Zerodha Demat details and the shares you want to transfer.
