In an attempt to be inclusive, Zerodha offers its offline account opening services to the visually impaired individuals. For this, they need to call 080 4913 2020 to connect with their Sales Representative. In addition to the documents mentioned above, they need to keep a Notary or Doctor’s attestation documents to complete KYC. Following the receipt of your documents, Zerodha will conduct an in-person verification as laid down by the SEBI guidelines. You can complete your IPV either by being physically present or through your webcam or mobile phone(Whats app call or Skype call). You will receive an OTP on your registered phone number or email address. Write the OTP on a piece of paper and head over to Zerodha IPV Link. Hold the paper until it is visible on the webcam, Zerodha will capture snapshots as proof of verification. Once all the information has been verified, your account will be activated.
The account opening charges are Rs. 300 for a trading and DEMAT account, while Rs. 200 is the fees for opening a commodity account. This amount is non-refundable.

Recently, Zerodha has tied up with IDFC FIRST Bank to offer a Zerodha-IDFC FIRST Bank 3-in-1 account, wherein the user can use a single account for trading, banking, and DEMAT. However, to open this 3-in-1 account, the user needs to have an existing account with IDFC FIRST Bank. Once you have an active account with IDFC FIRST Bank, you can apply for opening a 3-in-1 account with Zerodha. The account opening process is quick and you will need about 48-72 hours to have your account up and running. However, if there is any kind of issue with the verification of your identity or documents, the process may be delayed.

As Zerodha states, account closure is much different that account deactivation. Upon closing your account, you will have to reapply fresh for account opening if you wish to once again trade over Zerodha. Before applying for account closure, you need to ensure that:
For closing your Zerodha account, downlaod the account closing form. Fill out all the details and choose “Close account” in the checkbox. Send the duly filled and signed account closure form to Zerodha at Zerodha Head Office.

Zerodha takes about 5-7 business days to process your account closure request. The account closing process shall be effective after a month from the receipt of account closure request from the client. However, in the event that the dues against your account have not been settled, the date of confirmation shall stand from the day all the pending payments have been made. From thereon, the account closure will take place after the lapse of one month from the date of confirmation.
How to deactivate Zerodha Account?
Zerodha offers to its clients an account deactivation facility wherein they can halt trading temporarily until they wish to resume it later. Upon deactivation, your account will be frozen and no credit or debit can take place in that duration. Furthermore, no AMC will be charged by Zerodha and all your access to trading platforms and its accessories will be revoked.
To deactivate your account, download the form and select ‘Account Deactivation’ and fill up the remainder of the information. You can courier it to the main Head Office or you can submit it (after putting your digital signatures) after raising a ticket with Zerodha. The process of putting your digital signature on your account deactivation form is similar to that outlined in the account closing portion.
It takes nearly 5-7 working days to process the account deactivation request.
How to reactivate Zerodha Account?
As mentioned earlier, you cannot reactivate your account once you have closed it. However, if you have deactivated your Zerodha account, then you can reactivate it by following the steps given below:
