Account Opening Process in Motilal Oswal

1. Online (paperless) process

   1. Go to Motilal Oswal's official website or simply click on this link.

   2. Enter your Mobile Number and Referral Code (If you have one).
   3. Hit on “Open Demat Account”.
   4. Enter your E-mail ID and proceed.
   5. Now select your scheme and proceed.
   6. Now upload your PAN and Aadhar Card.
   7. Fetch all your document for Digilocker by clicking on “Authenticate Aadhar”.
   8. Enter the OTP code from the Mobile (Linked with Aadhar Card).
   9. As all your documents are fetched with Digilocker your KYC will be completed.
   10. Now Enter your Bank details. To confirm it Rs 1 will be credited to your account no.
   11. Upload your live photo by clicking on “proceed to take a selfie” and upload “Signature”.
   12. Enter the OTP code to verify your E-mail ID.
   13. Now Enter your details.
   14. You will redirect to the NSDL E-Sign page, here you need to enter your Virtual ID/ Aadhar.
   15. As your E-Sign process gets completed, you will immediately get the Client ID and Password.

   Now your account has been created and you can download the account opening form and start trading journey with MO platforms.

   Offline Process

   Another way to open account with MOSL is the physical form filling and sending it to the office. The steps are as follows:

   1. Visit Motilal Oswal website
   2. Click on 'Open an Account'.
   3. Select online form with physical signature option if your mobile number is not linked with Aadhaar.
   4. Click on submit and continue form-filling.
   5. Sign the physical copy and send to the head office.

2. Branch Network

   You can visit any of the Motilal Oswal branches nearby to you and fill up the account opening form available with the company executive.

The account opening form for trading and demat account can be obtained the download page of Motilal Oswal Website. You can visit near by branch also or request a form over phone to customer care team.

Motilal Oswal Account Closure and Deactivation

As per the SEBI Regulations, the Demat and trading account at Motilal Oswal will be frozen if the account has remained idle for over three years and there have been no transactions in the duration. If the account is not intended to be used, it is advisable to close the account to avoid maintenance charges. The client must take care of the following things before closing a demat and trading account:

• There should be no debit balance in the account. The outstanding dues have to be paid by the account holder to process closure request.
• The demat and trading account should not hold any stocks.

To close the account, there are no online process, you need to submit account closure application in physical format only.

Download the Account Closure Form from the company's website. The form has to be printed, filled, signed and submitted at the nearest branch or send to corporate office.

Once the form has been submitted, the company will take appropriate action to close the account. Usually, it takes around 7 to 15 working days to close an account. There is no account closing fee charged to close Demat and trading account at Motilal Oswal.

Motilal Oswal Account Reactivation

A dormant account can be reactivated at Motilal Oswal. You need to submit a physical application for reactivation process. The Account Activation Form is available on company's website or can be request over phone to customer care team.
